If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” -Sun Tzu, The Art of War
The core of any fandom is love – the love and support we have for our idols. But currently, we are at war. A brutal, pain-staking war that is bound to make or break the unity of our fandom. The Art of War by Sun Tzu talks about how understanding who we are as a group or as a team and who we are up against would be the greatest weapon we can ever yield.
At this point, official statements, rumours, rants and baseless articles have been published everywhere. All of which have been thrown at us at an alarmingly steady rate where our fandom’s goal had somehow gotten muddled in all of the noise. We implore you to take a step back and move away from most of it. Take a look at the bigger picture and direct your attention to where it actually matters: Our love for X1.
We are ONEIT. We are here because of X1 and X1 has achieved everything so far because of us. They have been constantly breaking records from the get-go because of our support and our outpouring love.
Our GOAL is to stand strong and shield our boys through the controversies–through the negativity. It is for us to patiently wait for them, to support them, and to only believe in them and in each other.
Our ENEMY, is anyone whose sole purpose is to divide us and attack X1 for their own personal agenda. They have different reasons but ultimately, they want X1 to fail.
Recently, the fandom had started moving at a more united pace, where we believed in each other and had held hands through most of the storm. We were finally seeing a shed of light somehow and we were starting to see a bit of hope.
International and Korean ONEITs alike had joined forces and had shaken the enemy with our resolve to achieve our goal as one. WingsForX1 had been one of the tools that drove this goal to fruition and this had not come without its own challenges.
To date, this website made for ONEITs by ONEITs is constantly being attacked by hackers. They want to bring us down and to take away the voice we finally acquired. This shows how unity can be so threatening for them because we are much more powerful than we think.
At this point, they have shifted gears and are trying to stifle our fandom’s unity with baseless rumors to shake our foundation and to infiltrate us. They understand how sensitive we are and how emotionally affected we are with the issue. They are using this to their advantage and again, this means we need to take a breath and not let them win.
All attempts to show disagreements against members, accusations of some trainees getting special treatment – they are rumors based on hearsay and speculations, not verified facts from official sources. And they are gathered together as propaganda because they know we are tired and will be shaken.
Their opinions are not facts. Unverified PR plants in the media aren’t facts. Rumors snowball on the internet. Someone says an unverified fact and it passes from person to person, account to account, tweet to tweet, and repeat it often enough and people start to believe it. But that is their opinion, their propaganda, we will show the fandom strength as a fact.
So what does all of this mean?
This means, we are actually doing something right and our enemy is trying to find our weakness to break us.
This means, we need to only rely on facts and wait for official communication to come out before we believe anything that we read on paper.
This means, we need to stay united and support our boys like we have been doing for months.
This means, love is the most powerful motivation and fandom unity is our greatest weapon.
This means, we cannot let go of each other’s hands and work on achieving our goal together.
